The Yomiuri Shimbun, in its latest telephone-based nationwide public opinion survey, asked respondents what they think of the view that Japanese nationals who travel overseas to dangerous areas in defiance of the government’s travel advisory and become involved in a terrorist attack or in an incident bear ultimate responsibility themselves. In response to this question, a total of 83% answered they agree with this view, substantially outnumbering those who think otherwise at 11%. (Abridged)
