According to the power and gas rates for April announced on Feb. 26 by 10 electric and 4 major city gas companies, 8 out of 14 companies will reduce the rate. The reduction is on account of the continuing low price of crude oil, which has lowered the import price of fuel. In the meantime, the city gas companies that rely on liquefied natural gas (LNG) will raise the price. The announced rate is based on the system in which the fluctuation of the price of imported fuel is automatically reflected in the power and gas rate every month. The reduction will be implemented by the eight electric companies that use petroleum as fuel.
