On April 16 the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry called for “nuclear power ratio of 25%” by putting together offered opinions on the optimal composition of electric power sources (best mix) for 2030 that is currently under the government’s deliberation. The chamber is concerned that the restart of nuclear power generation is not making progress and electric charges are fixed at a high level, “which could make it difficult for small and medium sized companies to sustain employment or even to continue their businesses.” Now the three major economic organizations of Japan have offered opinions in favor of their desired nuclear power ratio. The Japan Federation of Economic Organizations called for over 25% and the Japan Association of Corporate Executives for a “minimum of 20%.”
