Komeito likely to approve submission of casino bill to current Diet

 Yoshihisa Inoue, secretary general of the Komeito party, which is the coalition partner of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, indicated that his party will take a stand of tolerating the submission of a bill (aiming at lifting the ban on casinos) to promote the construction of integrated resorts (IRs) by the supra-partisan Diet members to the current session of the Diet. Although the Komeito leadership has upheld a stance of opposing the bill, Inoue said, “I think there is the possibility that the bill will be submitted (to the Diet) in the judgment of those responsible for the matter eventually.
