Gov’t mulls dispatching SDF to Nepal on rescue mission

 Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga revealed in press conference held on April 27 that the government is considering dispatching an SDF rescue unit to earthquake-devastated Nepal. Suga said, “Two SDF members as the advance team were sent as part of the Japan Disaster Relief Team/Rescue Team,” expressing a plan to make the final judgment according to the extent of the damage.

 

 One Japanese was killed and one wounded in a quake-caused avalanche. Suga said, “I have not received further information on Japanese victims of the disaster.
