The government released on May 12 the minutes of the fourth round of discussions held by a panel of experts on a statement that Prime Minister Abe will issue in August to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.

The report included comments on postwar reconciliation between Japan, the U.S. and Europe by Tokyo University Professor Fumiaki Kubo and Keio University Professor Yuichi Hosoya. They stressed the importance of making efforts both at the governmental and individual level, while discussing the efforts and tolerance of both victimizers and victims.
