Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) individuals and their supporters have drafted their own bill to prohibit discrimination against sexual minorities and require the central and local governments to extend support to them.

The draft, which was announced on May 19, calls for the government to establish a basic policy and for municipalities to come up with basic plans to eliminate indirect and direct discrimination and harassment against LGBTs at schools, workplaces, healthcare facilities, and various other fields.

The group of LGBT individuals and supporters will submit the draft to a bipartisan league on the issue with an eye on enacting it as law.
