U.S. Marine Corps’ MV-22 Osprey aircraft conducted nighttime training drills at the Ground Self-Defense Force’s Higashi-Fuji training range (in the cities of Gotenba and Susono, Oyama town) in Shizuoka Prefecture for the first time on June 4. It was the first training since the crash of the Osprey on May 18 in Hawaii.

The “group of Gotenba, Susono, Oyama residents opposing the deployment of the Osprey to the Higashi-Fuji training range” and the prefecture’s peace committee members monitored the training. (Abridged)
