Liberal Democratic Party Policy Research Council Chairperson Tomomi Inada indicated at a press conference on July 30 that the LDP will look into measures, including the compilation of a supplementary budget for fiscal 2015, for domestic industries such as agriculture that will suffer adverse effects if the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade talks are concluded. Inada said that if an agreement is reached in the TPP negotiations, “various effects are conceivable.” She went on to say: “It will be necessary to take measures based on the outcome. If there is a change in the situation of the initial budget, we will look into the possibility of an extra budget.”
