The Okinawa Times conducted a survey of Gov. Takeshi Onaga and the mayors of all 41 municipalities (cities, towns, and villages) in Okinawa Prefecture to ask what they think about the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) pact agreement and the government’s explanations on it. The survey asked them whether they approve of the contents of the agreement. In response to this question, a total of 20 persons (47.6%) answered in the negative, with only one person (Kitanakagusuku Village) in the affirmative. Respondents were also asked whether they think the government has sufficiently explained the TPP pact. To this question, a total of 33% answered “no,” accounting for a total of about 80%, with none of the respondents saying “yes.” (Abridged)
