On Nov. 5, Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) announced that Australia and Japan will set up an exchange program in livestock raising. Japanese university researchers and livestock farmers will be invited to Australia on a regular basis and will cooperate with Australia on marketing and research of pasturing from 2016.

Australian Ambassador to Japan Bruce Miller said at a press conference on Nov. 5: “Under the Japan-Australia economic partnership agreement (EPA), not only the bilateral cooperation has deepened but also the ban on Japan’s export of processed meat to Australia has been lifted. We would like to strengthen the mutually beneficial relationship.”
