The Japan Innovation Party reached a broad agreement on Nov. 19 on a policy of forming unified parliamentary groups with the main opposition Democratic Party of Japan in the two chambers of the Diet. As the DPJ side has reacted positively to the JIP’s idea, the two opposition parties will start working on major policies. However, since some JIP members are calling for forming a new party after dissolving the party, there is a possibility that the consultations will not make any progress.
