Abe wants Tanigaki, Inoue to create momentum for improving Japan, China ties

(Nikkei: November 28, 2015 – p. 4)

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe met with Sadakazu Tanigaki and Yoshihisa Inoue, secretaries-general of the Liberal Democratic Party and Komeito Party, respectively, at the Prime Minister’s Office on November 27.

The two senior party officials are scheduled to visit China from December 2 to 5 to resume exchanges between the Japanese ruling parties and the Communist Party of China. “China is also serious about improving its ties with Japan,” said Abe. “This is a crucial moment, so the LDP and Komeito should create momentum [to improve the ties].”
