Note: The survey was conducted on Oct. 15–Nov. 11 targeting the 47 prefectural governors and 1,741 municipal mayors in Japan. Responses were received from 1,732 local governments (96.9%). In the “blue” prefectures, very few local governments (less than 10%) responded that the impact of the TPP would be “clearly negative.” In the “orange” prefectures, 30% or more local governments responded that the impact of the TPP would be “clearly negative.” In the “red” prefectures, 40% or more local governments responded that the impact of the TPP would be “clearly negative.” [The “olive green prefectures do not fall under any of the three categories.]
