Japan to resume economic dialogue with China after more than five years

Today’s Sankei front-paged arrangements being worked out between Japan and China to resume high-level economic dialogue later this month for the first time in almost 66 months. A vice premier in charge of economic affairs, the foreign minister, and other senior Chinese officials will visit Tokyo to discuss the response to the recent financial market instability, bilateral coordination on the environment, and a trilateral FTA with South Korea. Chinese FM Wang plans to hold a separate meeting with FM Kishida to exchange views on DPRK provocations and China’s development of offshore gas fields in the East China Sea.
