Abe pledges efforts to counter foreign characterization of comfort women as sex slaves

This morning’s Sankei wrote that the GOJ is desperate to counter foreign media outlets’ frequent description of the comfort women as “sex slaves,” noting that PM Abe and FM Kishida underscored during Monday’s Diet committee session the GOJ’s enhanced efforts to rebut what they called “unfounded accusations.” The paper said Japan’s conservative elements are still criticizing the comfort women pact with the ROK by saying that the foreign media still use the phrase “sex slaves” even after the agreement was sealed.
