Yomiuri wrote on page 2 that arrangements are being made for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dunford and his Japanese and ROK counterparts Kono and Lee to hold talks in February or later to discuss North Korea’s nuclear and missile development and trilateral defense cooperation, including joint drills. This will be the second meeting of its kind since the top uniformed officials from the three nations held talks on the sidelines of the RIMPAC multi-national maritime exercise in July 2014. The paper wrote that the schedule and venue for the meeting are still under discussion.
