Yomiuri wrote in its economic news section on page 10 that Central Japan Railway Co. (JR Tokai) is making final arrangements to establish a U.S. subsidiary in Dallas, Texas, by July to provide technological assistance in bringing the shinkansen high-speed rail system to Texas, linking Dallas and Houston in about 90 minutes. The company plans to dispatch about 20 engineers to the Texas unit.
