Yokohama prosecutors office drops case against U.S. Navy sailor

 The Yokohama District Public Prosecutors Office on Jan. 22 dropped the case against a U.S. Navy sailor (22) who had been arrested and sent to the prosecutor on suspicion of assaulting a restaurant owner and two others in Yokosuka. It did not disclose the reason.

 

 The sailor was alleged to have punched the three men in the face at a restaurant in Yokosuka and arrested on the spot on Jan. 7. According to the Kanagawa Prefecture Police, he is a member of the crew of the submarine tender USS Frank Cable. He was reportedly inebriated at the time of his arrest.
