The cabinet ministers of the 12 countries in the Trans-Pacific Partnership negotiations who gathered at Auckland, New Zealand, for the signing ceremony of the pact on Feb. 4, met in the evening of Feb. 3.
It is reported that they discussed how to deal with countries that seek accession to the trade framework and the establishment of a point of contact and an information-sharing mechanism.
The meeting was joined by U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman, Australian Minister for Trade and Investment Andrew Robb and several others. State Minister of Cabinet Office Shunichi Takatori attended from Japan.
