Japanese, French foreign ministers agree to cooperate on sanctions against North Korea

 Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida spoke by telephone on Feb. 18 with his French counterpart Jean-Marc Ayrault, who was appointed this month. The two ministers confirmed that their countries will cooperate on the policy of strengthening sanctions against North Korea, on which the United Nations Security Council is currently holding discussions. They also agreed to cooperate in preparation for the ministerial meeting of the Group of Seven (G7) to be held in April in Hiroshima.
