Japan and the U.S. held a meeting of the U.S.-Japan Space Cooperation Working Group on Feb. 26 at the Ministry of Defense (MOD) and confirmed procedures for the Self-Defense Forces and the U.S. military to establish an information-sharing system for monitoring space activities by fiscal 2020.

The MOD will design radars and related facilities in fiscal 2018 and fiscal 2019. The two countries also agreed to conduct prior training in information sharing and analysis.
