On March 3, the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) announced the results of its survey on the international operations of Japanese firms. A full 74% of companies said they intended to “further expand exports.” This is the first time since the fiscal 2010 survey, when this question was first asked, that the figure exceeded 70%. The survey was conducted of 9,893 companies between November 2015 and January 2016, with 3,005 companies responding (30% response rate).
