All broadcasters led with reports that former ASDF chief Toshio Tamogami was arrested this morning for allegedly paying rewards to his staff following his unsuccessful campaign in the 2014 Tokyo gubernatorial election in violation of the public office election law. According to the networks, Nobuteru Shimamoto, who served as Tamogami’s election secretariat chief, was also arrested.
