Departed Paris Orly International Airport on a government plane. Arrived at Brussels Military Airport in Belgium. Offered flowers at the Maelbeek Metro Station, the site of a terrorist attack in March. Met with King Philippe at the Palais Royal.

Noon

Met with Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel at the Egmont Palace. Delivered a joint press statement. Attended the luncheon hosted by the prime minister.

Afternoon

Delivered a joint press statement with European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker at the European Union (EU) Headquarters. Participated in the Japan-EU leaders’ meeting.
