 bestsellers 21. Tensai by Shintaro Ishihara, former Tokyo governor     


The author is an outspoken former politician and leading advocate of a group opposing former Prime Minister Kakuei Tanaka. In this book, he writes about why he now admires Kakuei Tanaka. Ishihara won the Akutagawa Prize in literature for his work “Taiyo no Kisetsu” (Season of the Sun).


bestsellers 12. Hitsuji to Hagane no Mori by Natsu Miyashita

[A Forest of Sheep and Steel]

This novel is about a young man who is fascinated with the piano and grows up to become a piano tuner. The author won the Nationwide Booksellers Award 2016 in April for this book.
