Tsukasa Kawada to be appointed as ambassador in charge of Okinawa

Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida decided on June 3 to appoint Tsukada Kawada as ambassador in charge of Okinawan affairs. Kawada now serves as ambassador in charge of international cooperation for countering terrorism and organized crime.

 

Kawada joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after graduating from the Faculty of Economics at Hitotsubashi University in 1977. He has been serving as ambassador in charge of international cooperation for countering terrorism and organized crime since October 2014, after serving as ambassador to Algeria. He was born in Tochigi Prefecture and is 61 years old.
