LDP lobbying Congress to quickly pass motion on missing American in China

Sankei wrote that the ruling LDP is lobbying congressional officials so that the U.S. legislature will approve by the end of this month a proposed motion calling for the Obama administration to launch an investigation into a missing American who may have been abducted by DPRK agents while hiking in China in August 2004. LDP officials, including former Abduction Minister Furuya who is currently visiting the U.S. capital, are lobbying on Capitol Hill to enlist additional congressional members to sponsor the resolution so that it can be adopted before Congress effectively adjourns in late June ahead of the party conventions in the summer.
