NTV reported this morning that one of the items President Obama viewed at the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum on May 27 was a lunchbox charred in the atomic bombing. Since the President’s visit to the museum was short, the museum reportedly prepared several items that had been kept in storage, including the lunchbox and a panel of photographs. The President also viewed origami cranes folded by a young girl named Sadako Sasaki who later died due to the aftereffects of the atomic bombing. The origami cranes presented by President Obama are currently on display at the museum. The number of visitors to the museum has increased compared with the same period last year.
