Asahi and Nikkei wrote briefly on inside pages that Defense Minister Nakatani commented during a news conference on June 28 on the arrest on Sunday of an American worker at Kadena AB for alleged drunk driving by saying that it is unjustifiable and he cannot help but have doubts about the measures taken by the U.S. to prevent similar incidents involving U.S. military personnel and civilian base workers.
