U.S. government closely watching anti-U.S. base activity in Okinawa

Okinawa Times reported that following the indictment of a civilian base worker on the charge of disposing of a woman’s body, the U.S. government is now saying that it wants to carefully monitor developments related to Futenma until the court renders a verdict in the civilian base worker’s case. To leave room for the Okinawa governor to make compromises, anti-U.S. base activity must not be allowed to spread, a Department of Defense source said.
