GOJ to ask JET alumni to help introduce Japanese cultural assets

Monday’s Sankei wrote that the GOJ decided on July 17 to ask alumni of the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program to help disseminate information about cultural assets in Japan to foreign countries as a measure to increase the number of foreign tourists visiting Japan. The GOJ plans to ask JET alumni to help provide information via the Internet and create brochures in foreign languages. The GOJ included a plan for the better use of cultural assets for promoting tourism in its growth strategy developed in June.
