Secretary Kerry expresses condolences to families of knife attack victims

Most papers reported on foreign media outlets’ keen interest in the knife attack in Sagamihara on July 26, with The New York Times pointing out that Japan has one of the lowest crime rates in the world. Asahi and several other papers quoted Secretary of State Kerry as saying at a press availability in Laos on July 26: “I want to express my deepest condolences to the families of those whose loved ones were killed in the horrific attack in Sagamihara, Japan, this morning. And our thoughts and our prayers are very much with those people who are going through a terrible process.”
