NASA leader expresses hope for Japanese participation in Mars exploration project

Today’s Asahi carried an interview with NASA Administrator Bolden, who voiced hope for Japan to contribute technological expertise to NASA’s Mars exploration project in the 2030s. Bolden indicated that Japan will be able to provide technological expertise on assembling a vehicle for entry, descent, and landing, and the construction of dwelling facilities for astronauts. He will visit Japan this week to hold talks with JAXA President Okumura and senior GOJ officials.
