NHK gave top play to a report that new Tokyo Governor Koike has decided to set up a panel to investigate the validity of the budget and timetable for the 2020 Olympics to increase transparency in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. TV Asahi reported that the Tokyo government will demand that former Governor Masuzoe return the money he used for tickets to baseball games and concerts. TBS led with a report on the launch of the metropolitan government under Governor Koike. NTV and Fuji TV led with reports on unstable weather in the Kanto region.
