Several papers wrote that LDP Diet members specializing in foreign affairs were given a briefing on Tuesday by MOFA officials on the recent launch by the ROK government of the Reconciliation and Healing Foundation for former comfort women. The parliamentarians strongly urged South Korea to remove the comfort women statue from in front of the Japanese Embassy in Seoul quickly if it wants to receive Japan’s contribution of 1 billion yen.
