China urges Japan not to allow cabinet ministers to visit Yasukuni

Friday’s Asahi asserted that the Chinese government has filed a request with the GOJ through a diplomatic channel not to allow homage at Yasukuni Shrine by cabinet ministers. According to several sources involved in bilateral relations, the Chinese side specifically mentioned Defense Minister Inada in expressing concern about possible visits to the Shinto memorial by senior GOJ officials. Meanwhile, all papers wrote that Reconstruction Minister Imamura visited the shrine on Thursday morning.
