Abe, Putin to hold summit in early September in Vladivostok

Tuesday evening’s Yomiuri front-paged a report saying arrangements are being made for Prime Minister Abe and President Putin to hold a bilateral meeting on Sept. 2 in Vladivostok on the margins of an economic forum to be hosted by the Russian government. They are expected to discuss issues related to a peace treaty, including the Northern Territories disputes and Japan’s economic support. The Russian leader’s purported trip to Japan in December is also likely to be taken up.
