Saturday evening’s Asahi published the results of a survey taken in Japan, Indonesia, and India by a private Japanese think tank that showed only 20% of Japanese were optimistic about their future, marking a sharp contrast to the two other nations. Three out of five Indian and Indonesian respondents expressed optimism. Japanese are reportedly pessimistic about their future on account of the dwindling birth rate and aging population.
