All Saturday morning papers wrote that Okinawa Governor Onaga appeared at the Naha Branch of the Fukuoka High Court on Friday to deliver his final argument in a lawsuit filed by the central government over the legality of the governor’s rescindment of permission to conduct landfill work for FRF construction off Camp Schwab. The governor said if the court rules against him and the Supreme Court upholds the ruling, he will have no choice but to respect it. The high court is expected to issue a ruling on Sept. 16. Mainichi said the Abe administration is confident that it will win the case.
