Nikkei reported online that the U.S. and the South Korean militaries launched a 10-day combined command post exercise called Ulchi-Freedom Guardian today with the goal of deterring North Korea’s aggression. North Korea reacted sharply to the exercise, with a DPRK army spokesman saying in a statement that the DPRK would launch a nuclear attack without hesitation if the two militaries showed any sign of aggression.
