Referring to Japan’s response to North Korea’s repeated provocative actions such as ballistic missile launches, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said: “The only option for the international community is to join forces in applying pressure.” He indicated that international pressure should be stepped up, including the possibility of imposing additional sanctions .

Abe then pointed out that “unless every country’s efforts are exhaustive, no results will be produced,” implying that not all countries are abiding by UNSC resolutions. (Abridged)
