The ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) informed the Secretariat of the House of Representatives on Oct. 19 that Tsuyoshi Tabata has joined the LDP parliamentary group in the Lower House. Tabata won the Lower House seat vacated by former Lower House member Masaru Wakasa, who is now running in a Lower House by-election for the Tokyo No. 10 constituency. The balance of power in the Lower House is now as follows:
