South Korea to share military secrets with Japan

TBS reported at noon that South Korea’s Ministry of National Defense has decided to share military secrets with the MOD and has announced that it will resume talks with Japan on the matter. The network explained that although Japan and South Korea agreed to conclude a General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA) in 2012, the South Korean side postponed the signing at the last minute due to public criticism at home. The network said the decision was made in response to the growing threat posed by North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs and the need to exchange military information directly with Japan.
