Japan, ROK to hold first-ever meeting to discuss cybersecurity on Oct. 28

On Oct. 26, the ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Japan and the ROK will hold their first-ever consultations on cybersecurity on Oct. 28 in Seoul. Koichi Mizushima, Japan’s ambassador in charge of cyber policy and deputy director-general of the Foreign Policy Bureau, and Shin Maeng-ho, the ROK’s ambassador for international security affairs, will represent their respective sides. Accompanied by delegates from related ministries, they will discuss cybersecurity and the creation of international standards for cyberspace.


In addition to presenting their nations’ cybersecurity systems and initiatives, they will discuss cybersecurity cooperation with an eye toward the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics.
