Japan, Taiwan to hold first meeting on maritime issues on Oct. 31

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan and the Interchange Association, Japan, the body in charge of Japan’s relations with Taiwan, announced on Oct. 27 that they will hold the first meeting of the “Japan-Taiwan maritime cooperation dialogue” on Oct. 31 in Tokyo. They will discuss  bilateral cooperation in the fishing industry, including operations of Taiwanese fishing boats, maritime rescue, and marine scientific research.
