The Liberal Democratic Party will resume the Special Mission Commission on National Security and Land Act, which has been inactive for some time, to start discussions aimed at enacting legislation to regulate the acquisition of water-rich forests and land close to defense facilities using foreign capital, a source close to the matter revealed on Oct. 27. For the time being, the senior members of the commission will meet on an irregular basis. They will organize the topics for discussion and draft a legislator-sponsored bill at an early date.
