Monday’s Sankei and Tokyo Shimbun wrote that they have learned from several sources connected to the Ministry of Defense that the ministry discovered in September that the defense information infrastructure jointly used by the ministry and the SDF had suffered a cyberattack through unauthorized access to computers at the National Defense Academy and the National Defense Medical Collage. Although the details of the damage are not known, it appears likely that internal information about the GSDF was stolen. Kyodo News filed a similar story.
