Gave an interview to the media at the Prime Minister’s Office [Kantei]. Then spoke on the telephone with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Deputy Permanent Representative of Japan to the United Nations Yoshifumi Okamura, MOFA Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Takeo Akiba, and Foreign Policy Bureau Director-General Kimihiro Ishikane were present.


Met with Deputy Minister Takeo Akiba and North American Affairs Bureau Director-General Takeo Mori.


Attended the Keidanren Board of Councillors meeting at the Keidanren Bldg. in Otemachi.


Met with State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yosuke Takagi at the Kantei.


Met with astronaut Takuya Onishi. Then met with Director-General Ishikane. After he had left, met with Toru Yoneda, mayor of Itoigawa City in Niigata Prefecture, and Lower House member Shuichi Takatori.


Met with Director-General Ishikane. Thereafter, met with Secretary-General of the National Security Secretariat Shotaro Yachi, Director of Cabinet Intelligence Shigeru Kitamura, and Cabinet Satellite Intelligence Center Director Kenichi Kinomura. Director Kitamura stayed behind.


Met with Secretary-General Yachi, Director Kitamura, Director-General Ishikane, MOD Bureau of Defense Policy Director-General Satoshi Maeda, and Chief of Staff, Joint Staff Katsutoshi Kawano. Then met with Trans-Pacific Partnership Task Force Chief Negotiator Hiroshi Oe and MOFA Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Shinsuke Sugiyama and Economic Affairs Bureau Director-General Kanji Yamanouchi.


Met with Vice-Minister Sugiyama. After he had left, met with LDP Secretary-General Toshihiro Nikai et al. Thereafter, had a discussion with the Cabinet Kisha Club.


Had a discussion with the Kantei staff.


Arrived at his private residence in Tomigaya.


Gave an interview to the press at Haneda Airport. Thereafter, departed aboard a government airplane to Hawaii to visit Pearl Harbor and to have a summit meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama.
