The Liberal Democratic Party and the Party for Japanese Kokoro have decided to form a unified parliamentary group in the House of Councillors when the Diet convenes for an ordinary session on Jan. 20. The group will consist of 126 legislators from the LDP and Kokoro and will be named after the two parties. Kokoro is the party of Kyoko Nakayama and Masahi Nakano, who serve as the party’s leader and secretary-general, respectively. The party will remain intact after the unified parliamentary group is established.
